Moving light for active travel
Alights are a new active travel illumination invention that stems from the desire to use front bike lights as indicators. The patented ability to adjust the beam angle illumination in real-time to the many hand positions that are needed for cycling; leads to a variety of other user benefits.
Our Story
Alight Ink Ltd. is a pre-revenue business incorportated for the sole purpose of designing and manufacturing active travel lights using the patented system that is at the core of Alights code base and design.
Illumination that can reorientate itself in real-time.
The company has been run and established by Sam Moon Phillips for the past 2 years; having been developing the ideas behind the invention for 8 years.
Alight Ink Ltd was recently awarded a PCT patent grant by both WIPO and nationally with the UK IPO in May of this year, for the invention covered in the patent specification.

I've been working with lights for 25 years and I’m pleased to have to have achieved a patent grant for a new invention - an inventive new bike & active travel light, that has the likelihood of increasing cycling numbers as new generations of cyclists develop an interest in smarter safety lights.
This will become all the more achievable after realising our first funding round, enabling the journey to a viable product.
